What is Emergency Management?
The Emergency Management program has a simple mission: to prepare the university to be able to respond to, and recover from, any incident. We are dedicated to enhancing the safety and quality of life for the university community. Emergency Management involves four phases:
In addition, we deliver online Emergency Services which covers emergency response, safety education, and fire prevention and response services to the campus.
What can I do to keep myself safe?
- Know what to do if you hear the Emergency Warning Siren
- Review the campus Emergency Procedures for guidelines to follow before, during, and after an emergency
- Maintain a first aid kit
- Be familiar with the Emergency Response Team. A core group of staff regularly review and participate in emergency planning exercises. Depending on the level of emergency, staff respond from the following areas: Biosafety, Emergency Management, Fire & Life Safety, Hazardous Materials, Radiation, Risk Management, Safety & Industrial Hygiene, Waste Management...and many more
