Erin Brockovich's case, on behalf of the residents of Hinckley California, was an environmental health case dealing with chemical contamination of drinking water supply. In 2006 Taco Bell restaurants in four states were the center of an environmental health scare as 61 patrons were infected with a bacterial strain of e.coli. In August 2008 a nine year old boy was killed after swimming in Lake Elsinore and being infected by a warm water amoeba, Naegleria fowleri.
