Fire & Life Safety
Our Focus
The Fire and Life Safety Program's main focus is to prevent and reduce the loss of life and property resulting from fire related incidents. We strive to provide our campus community with the tools and knowledge required to maintain a fire safe environment.
Your Participation
Fire and life safety should be everyone's concern. We can all assist in creating a fire safe environment by familiarizing ourselves with common fire hazards and prevention practices.
Services We Offer
Fire Prevention Training
Fire Prevention personnel provide training for general fire safety awareness, use of portable fire extinguishers and evacuation procedures. We also provide instructional information, such as: Cooking Safety tips.
Fire Inspections
Periodic fire inspections are conducted in order to identify and mitigate fire hazards which are often a direct result from daily activities in all occupancies. These inspections also verify that all fire protection equipment and systems perform to their intended design. In addition, our inspections provide insight to areas that may require additional education or training.
Fire Protection Engineering
Fire Prevention maintains the formal review, inspection and approval of all construction for matters related to fire and life safety. The analysis of new facilities and campus operations are an integral part of ensuring fire safety is considered in all new and existing structures. Through the processes of consultation and plan review, we are able to ensure that all facilities are built to comply with The California Building and Fire Codes.
