Environmental Health & Biosafety Programs Specialist

The position will serve as Environmental Health Program Manager, and as an Assistant BioSafety Officer for the campus. Performs all public health inspections and plan review for the campus. Provides consultative services for and evaluates food facilities, swimming pools, water quality, vector biology and control, solid and liquid waste, emergency preparedness, and response including disaster sanitation and temporary food service locations. In addition, performs a variety of scientific and technical duties in the campus Laboratory and Research Safety Program as an assistant to the BioSafety Officer (BSO). Collaborates with the BSO and with all EH&S staff in the delivery of biosafety services to the campus community. Develops policies and procedures for campus Emergency Response Plan for Infectious diseases

Radiation Safety Officer

Reporting to the Director of Environmental Health and Safety, and with the support of management and fellow EH&S staff, and under general supervision this position has the responsibility to develop, manage, evaluate and continuously improve the campus program in radiation safety for UCR. The position addresses all radiation safety regulatory and operational requirements and prudent/best practices in an intensive, dynamic research and industrial growth environment, including planning for a new medical school.
