Radiation Machine permit


To obtain a radiation machine permit, follow these instructions for each type of equipment:

General License permit (G-0000)

General License machines must be approved with permits identified with the letter "G" before the permit number

  1. Obtain Radiation Safety (Initial) training.
  2. Notify the Radiation Safety Officer, or designee
  3. Comply with Radiation Safety inspections every 6 months (for those who have electron microscopes, LSCs, moisture density gauges, and GCs)

Irradiator permit (IR-0000)

Irradiators must be approved with permits identified with the letter "IR" before the permit number

  1. Obtain Radiation Safety (Initial) training
  2. Begin your security clearance / background check by contacting Ondra Carter (951) 827-5529
  3. Enroll in the Irradiator Safety training class by contacting Ondra Carter (951) 827-5529

X-ray permit (X-0000)

X-rays must be approved with permits identified with the letter "X" before the permit number

  1. Obtain Radiation Safety (Initial) training.
  2. Submit an  Application for Use of Machines that Produce Ionizing Radiation
