Roles and Responsibilities
A successful and progressive program to achieve health, safety and environmental objectives requires the active participation of everyone on campus. In order to enhance the process of comprehensive participation, UCR has established the Safety Partners program within each department. Safety Partners help the department focus on General Safety, Laboratory Safety (as applicable), and Emergency Preparedness.
With each of the Safety Partners, EH&S collaborates and provides full support, training, tools, and other mechanisms to assist in the success of department efforts.
There are 4 different roles that make up Safety Partners , each with distinct yet complementary responsibilities. In each case it is the role of the Safety Partner to facilitate the implementation of program responsibilities within their department or location.
