Aerial Work Platform (AWP) training
Principles of safe operation of aerial work platform (AWP) trucks required per 29 CFR 1910.178 and 8CCR 3668. This course is required to operate a cherry picker and/or scissor lift vehicle on campus. Topics include: safe operation, truck-related topics (i.e., operating instructions / warnings / precautions, visibility, vehicle stability, etc.), and workplace-related topics (i.e., surface conditions, loads, ramps, etc.). Includes both formal instruction and practical training (hands-on practice).

You are responsible for transporting your people to/from the training location.
If necessary, we can arrange to have an instructor brought to your location if you have 10+ participants who need the course.
Dates and Times
Classes can be held any date, with one week advanced notice to Environmental Health and Safety.
Costs
Please submit an FAU number for each person, to cover the following instructor costs:
$ 50 if you need Aerial Work Platform (AWP) training
$ 75 if you need Aerial Work Platform (AWP) AND Forklift training
Certification
Participants who complete the training will receive an identification card. Please ensure that copies of each are submitted to the Training Manager by email or fax (951) 827-5122 for official record keeping purposes. Certification is required every 3 years.
