The Campus Safety Committee (CSC) is diverse group of University faculty, staff, administration, union representation, and other constituencies, chaired by the Director of Environmental Safety & Health. The committee meets monthly to discuss campus safety issues. The primary goal of the safety committee is to create and maintain a high level of interest and awareness in safety among all employees and to help provide a safe and healthy environment for our faculty, staff, students, and visitors. The safety committee is also a forum where any and all safety issues can be discussed. The safety committee makes recommendations for improvement in various safety related areas. Minutes and Agendas

Meeting minutes, agendas, rosters, and other materials are available for faculty and staff to view, through the EH&S Sharepoint site. For instructions on accessing the files, view the sharepoint directions.

Materials are located in the "Campus Safety Committee" folder.


Make reasoned recommendations and decisions regarding campus and UCR community safety. Develop subcommittees for specialized tasks and projects as necessary and appropriate.

Study/Investigate: Assess and study problem areas, accidents and trends, and select and utilize various tools to improve the situation.

Consult: Assure all stakeholders are involved in the process

Advise: Recommend direction for VC units and other decision makers to facilitate safety

Planning processes: Participate in appropriate planning and design processes to achieve goals

Standardization: Standardize design and installation of safety markings such as: Crosswalks, lane dividers, lighting, signage, etc.
