Table listing Current level and reactions as follows: 1 milliamp is the lowest level of perception, 5 milliamps is a slight shock, not painful but disturbing. This is the level a GFCI triggers. 6-30 milliamps Painful "let-go" range, 50-150 milliamps is extreme pain, respiratory arrest, sand severe muscular contraction. 1000 to 4300 milliamps ventricular fibrillation occurs, 10000milliamps and greater is cardiac arrest, severe burns, and probable death. Note: A standard outlet carries 20,000 milliamps.
